About The Community

Atlanta’s Old Fourth Ward (O4W), is one of the city’s more interesting in-town neighborhoods, embracing Atlanta’s past and future, as well as being home to Community & Council’s office. Originally settled in the early 1800’s, this historic section just east of downtown is home to the Civil Rights Movement, the birthplace of Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., and is represented by Atlanta’s own congressman and civil rights leader, John Lewis. In addition to the restoration of old buildings, bungalows, and old Victorian houses, new developments like the Beltline, the O4W Park, restaurants, skate parks, coffee shops and green spaces have attracted both old and new residents to form an ecclectic community. Because of it’s proximity to Freedom Parkway, Ponce City Market, Edgewood and Sweet Auburn Ave, you’ll see people walking, biking or just enjoying the neighborhood.
